BORN 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012
Our Semi-Competitive training group is designed to introduce and transition our younger players to the competitive fleet. However, exceptions can be made for older players new to water polo or unable to fully participate in the other program.
This program is a great opportunity for children to improve both their swimming skills and their game sense. It is ideal for children who have completed swimming lessons, but are not yet old enough to continue with lifesaving or life guarding classes. Your child will get the additional benefit of learning to be part of a team too!
In WPS provincial events, they play in their appropriate age division only. For example, an athlete born in 2009 would only play in 13U events. Athletes born 2010 & later would only play mini events. Semi-competitive athletes are not eligible to participate in Water Polo Sask’s development centre (DC) and are therefore unable to be eligible for TeamSask.
COVID-19 restrictions limit the number of athletes allowed at a practice. These numbers are identified in WPS’s Return-to-Sport document and must adhere to provincial guidelines and facility regulations. Coaches may have to create practice rosters and athletes may be part of a rotation.
Practice times are available under PROGRAMS > TRAINING SCHEDULE in the menu above. RWPA registration fees for the 2020/21 season have yet to be finalized.
