Our Battleship training group is program is a gender-specific program for athletes who are committed to taking their game to the next level. The program is aimed to teach and develop the advanced skills of water polo to prepare water polo players for competition. We encourage advanced beginners and recreational players to learn the necessary skills foundation to play competitive water polo. Skill development for advanced ball-handling, passing, shooting, goal-tending, team work and game strategies will be emphasized. For some just entering competitive water polo, our training compliments and supplements the programs of swimming leagues. Players registered in this group would compete in the newly formed gender specific Provincial League. As well the team would be involved in tournaments around Canada. Depending on interest, there may also be opportunities to travel internationally. The goal is for these players to gain game experience important to their development. In the second part of the season the athletes continue to develop advanced skills and begin training in tactics and team strategy.
In WPS provincial events, they play in their appropriate age division, plus up one age division.
