Our Battleship training group is a gender-specific program for athletes who are committed to taking water polo to the next level!
BATTLESHIP is aimed to teach and develop the advanced skills of water polo to prepare water polo players for competition.
We encourage advanced beginners and recreational players to learn the necessary fundamental skills to play competitive water polo such as advanced ball-handling, passing, shooting, goal-tending, team work and game strategies.
Players registered in this group could compete in the newly formed gender specific Provincial League. This requires players to be registered with an additional program with Water Polo Saskatchewan. If selected, the player could be a member of Team Sask. and be involved in tournaments around Canada and potentially have opportunities to travel internationally.
The goal is for these players to gain game experience important to their development.
NEW - These players are eligible to register in the Recreational Games Night. Players can sign up in the correct age group for additional opportunities to play water polo games:
- Destroyers - Saturdays from 7:15-7:55pm - Ages 8-10
- Tankers - Saturdays from 8:00-8:40pm - Ages 11-15
- Schooners - Saturdays from 8:45-9:30pm - Ages 16+
In WPS provincial events, they play in their appropriate age division, plus up one age division.
Water Polo Canada (WPC) has changed the age categories for the current season. They are: 9U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U, Open and Senior.
