SAILORS is a co-ed recreational program is designed for athletes who wish to try water polo or enjoy playing water polo in a non-competitive environment. The recreational program offers one practice per week which includes swim instruction, fun water polo drills and scrimmages.

This program is a great opportunity for children to improve both their swimming skills and their game sense. A great opportunity for athletes that have aged out of I Love Water Polo but are not ready for the competitive programs. It’s ideal for children who have completed swimming lessons but are not yet old enough to continue with lifesaving or life guarding classes. Your child will get the additional benefit of learning to be part of a team too!

NEW - These players are eligible to register in the Recreational Games Night.  Players can sign up in the correct age group for additional opportunities to play water polo games:

  • Destroyers - Saturdays from 7:15-7:55pm - Ages 8-10
  • Tankers - Saturdays from 8:00-8:40pm - Ages 11-15
  • Schooners - Saturdays from 8:45-9:30pm - Ages 16+

In Water Polo Saskatchewan (WPS) Provincial events, players will compete in their age division only. Sailors athletes are not eligible to participate in WPS’s Development Centre (DC) and are therefore unable to be eligible for TeamSask.

Water Polo Canada (WPC) has changed the age categories for the current season. They are:  9U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U, Open and Senior.
